Job Summary
Provide direction and supervision for drilling operations as assigned, writing cost estimates and drilling procedures. Evaluate and implement current and new technological advances for drilling operations, including designing complicated procedures for straight, directional, and horizontal wells. Spread knowledge to operations groups and stay current on all new industry drilling technologies to innovate. Make sound engineering decisions with minimal management overview in horizontal and geopressured areas. Requires a BS in Petroleum Engineering, 10+ years of experience, and strong computer skills with Compass and TDAS knowledge.
Required Qualifications
- BS in Petroleum Engineering
- 10+ years experience in the oil and gas industry as a Drilling Engineer
- Expertise in horizontal and geopressured areas
- Current on all new drilling technologies
- Ability to make sound engineering decisions with minimal management overview
- Good communication skills
- Ability to work well in a team environment
- Self starter
- Flexible to change in both functions and responsibilities
Desired Qualifications
- Working knowledge of Compass
- Working knowledge of TDAS
