Job Summary
Drill Press Operator responsible for setting up and operating drill press equipment to produce precision components per print specifications, reading blueprints and setup sheets, selecting tooling, verifying feeds/speeds/machine settings, measuring parts with calipers and micrometers, maintaining quality and safety in a fast-paced production environment, and assisting with additional machine shop duties as needed.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Ability to read and follow blueprints and production instructions
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
- Prior manufacturing or machining experience preferred
- Experience operating drill presses or similar manual machining equipment preferred
- Familiarity with precision measuring tools and inspection equipment
- Previous machine shop or metal manufacturing experience preferred
- Physical requirements: stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 pounds, repetitive motions
- Exposure to noise, metal dust, and moving machinery
