Job Summary
Experienced heavy equipment operator for construction/quarry drilling. Safely perform all drilling activities per the job program, including vertical and/or horizontal drilling, and ensure safe, efficient operation of Epiroc top hammer drills. Maintain equipment, understand drill patterns and layout, maximize drill supplies, inventory accessories, and communicate terrain conditions to the Blasting Supervisor. Complete drill reports, hole sheets, and signed timecards using the Field Accounting system. Participate in safety and foreman/department meetings; work unsupervised with a focus on safety and efficiency. Requires Driller I and Driller II training certifications, 5+ years hydraulic equipment operating experience, valid driver’s license with reliable transportation, and ability to pass ATF screenings. Physical requirements include lifting 50-100 lbs. and working on uneven surfaces in varying weather. Travel stipend provided with a full-time role at Middlebury, VT.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years hydraulic equipment operating experience
- Experience with Epiroc top hammer drills or similar preferred
- Valid Driver's License with own reliable transportation
- Must have personal cell phone for communications
- One year experience in the construction industry
- Experience as a construction laborer
- Must hold a high level of common sense relative to equipment and machinery operation
- Mechanical aptitude based on past experience around equipment, motors, hydraulic, electrical systems
- Must be able to pass ATF screenings
- Ability to lift 50-100 lbs., 30-40% of the time
- Stooping and bending 30–40%
- Work on uneven and loose surfaces in varying weather environments
