Job Summary
DRIE Ombudsperson for the NYC Department of Finance’s Office of the Taxpayer Advocate to investigate and respond to complaints regarding the Disability Rent Increase Exemption (DRIE) within the Rent Freeze Program. Responsibilities include addressing inquiries and denials or appeals, suggesting program improvements, resolving issues for applicants or beneficiaries with DRIE/SCRIE matters, developing outreach with communities and advocacy groups, maintaining the case management system, assisting with annual reports and City Council submissions, and performing special projects. Requires strong communication, customer-service orientation, collaboration with officials and stakeholders, and the ability to provide information and alternatives to participants while advancing program effectiveness.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree (baccalaureate) or equivalent, and two years of experience in community work or related activities; or High school graduation or equivalent and six years of related experience; or equivalent mix with at least one year of experience as described in the first option.
