Job Summary
Validate DRG assignments, conduct inpatient auditing, and identify coding opportunities within complex trauma coding scenarios. Review documentation against ICD-10-CM/PCS guidelines to ensure accurate MS-DRG/APR-DRG assignment and provide clear audit findings. Maintain a minimum of three years of recent APR-DRG/DRG coding experience in a Level II Trauma Center or higher, supported by active AHIMA or AAPC certification and CCS certification. This role offers a fully remote, direct-hire W-2 position with competitive compensation, 401(k), and comprehensive medical, dental, vision, and life insurance. Required Qualifications
- Active AHIMA or AAPC coding certification
- CCS certification
- Minimum of 3 years of recent APR-DRG/DRG coding experience in a Level II Trauma Center or higher
- Minimum of 1 year of recent inpatient auditing experience in a Level II Trauma Center or higher
- Previous DRG/APR-DRG validation experience
- Strong knowledge of ICD-10-CM/PCS coding guidelines, MS-DRG/APR-DRG assignment, reimbursement methodologies, and documentation requirements
- Ability to identify coding opportunities, validate DRG assignment, and provide clear audit findings
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail
- Must reside in the United States
- High school diploma or equivalent
