Draper

Draper to lead a team of three in constructing, fitting, and refurbishing costumes for professional ballet productions; advanced hands-on production role requiring independent work, ability to manage complex builds and fittings, and contribute to a fast-paced production schedule. Responsibilities include interpreting design sketches, draping, pattern making, sewing, fittings for dancers, supervising alterations, monitoring safety and quality, calculating yardage and supplies, training personnel, attending dress rehearsals, and collaborating with other costume shop teams. Requires minimum MFA in costume technology or comparable professional experience, plus 4-6 years of professional draping experience; strong leadership, fabric knowledge (especially stretch fabrics), and experience supervising a team in a theater setting. Proficiency with costume construction machinery and ability to work under production deadlines is essential.
