Job Summary
Conduct drainage inspections to identify problems, arrange cleaning and CCTV assessments, and issue documentation to panel contractors for repairs. Supervise contractors ensuring pit lid safety and compliance with the Road Management Plan while providing feedback to residents and service authorities. Prepare detailed reports on maintenance activities and system conditions, collaborate on drainage projects, and assist in developing preventive maintenance programs. Ensure all works adhere to safety regulations, environmental standards, and the Road Management Act 2004. Requires post-secondary qualifications, a drivers license, and experience in local drainage infrastructure.
Required Qualifications
- Post-secondary qualifications in municipal maintenance or relevant experience in a Local Government environment or similar
- Drivers Licence HR
- Knowledge and application of road and drainage construction and maintenance works standards
- Understanding of Road Management Act 2004
- Working knowledge of clerical / administrative procedures and standards
- Construction and maintenance work experience in drainage maintenance and construction
- Ability to gain cooperation from and communicate both verbally and in written form to a broad range of people from diverse backgrounds and cultures
- Ability to deal with difficult customer/client situations and present a positive Council image
- Ability to prepare routine correspondence and reports
- Understanding of local environmental regulations and water management practices
- Familiarity with Coolaroo's drainage infrastructure and local climate conditions
- Detail-oriented approach with a focus on efficiency and organization
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends when required
