Drainage Engineer

Job Summary
Undertake drainage network modelling and design for major road and transport infrastructure projects, developing stormwater systems including pit and pipe networks and longitudinal corridor solutions. Prepare design models, drawings, calculations, and technical reports while coordinating with multidisciplinary teams to achieve integrated project outcomes from concept through detailed design. Support proposal efforts and maintain strong client service outcomes across diverse sectors including transport, defence, mining, and energy transition. This role suits an engineer with 3–7 years of post-graduate experience in drainage design, particularly for linear infrastructure. Proficiency in 12d, Drains, and AutoCAD is required, alongside familiarity with Australian and Western Australian drainage standards. Hybrid work options and flexible hours are available.
Required Qualifications
- 3 - 7 years' post-graduate experience
- Experience delivering work within a consulting, design or engineering environment
- Demonstrated experience in drainage network modelling and drainage design, particularly for major transport or road corridor projects
- Proficiency in 12d, Drains and AutoCAD
- A sound understanding of drainage design principles for linear infrastructure and road corridor environments
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- The ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary project team
- Familiarity with relevant Australian and Western Australian drainage design standards and guidance
- Exposure to hydrologic or hydraulic assessment tools that support drainage design outcomes

Desired Qualifications
- Experience in Main Roads WA, Department of Defence, local government or other Australian transport authority project environments
- Experience coordinating drainage design within larger transport infrastructure projects
- Progress toward chartership or professional registration
