Job Summary
Supervise drafters and production checkers to move projects through engineering stages while meeting deadlines and erection schedules. Manage project priorities, delegate daily duties, and coordinate kickoff with project management and sales. Act as the primary contact for external and internal customers, making calls to architects, engineers, and contractors to resolve issues. Perform peer reviews, manage engineering costs and paperwork, and mentor team members through all shop drawing stages. Maintain strict schedules and coordinate with outside resources to complete complex layout tasks.
Required Qualifications
- Two (2) year vo-tech or equivalent in CAD/Drafting minimum
- Ability to delegate work in order to meet deadlines
- Skill in dealing with people
- Effective communication skills
Desired Qualifications
- Training in managing people
- Training in managing multiple projects to meet deadlines and meet objectives
- Experience and knowledge of Fabcon standards for drawings, sales, project management, design, fabrication, and erection
- Previous experience as Engineer or Senior Drafter
- Knowledge of how Fabcon works and operates in all stages of a project, including sales, project management, design, production, and erection
- Knowledge and understanding of all Fabcon standards
