Job Summary
Drafting Legal Assistant supports clients in estate and long-term care planning with high-quality service to clients and internal staff. Responsibilities include collecting and organizing client data and financial details into a comprehensive Client Information and Asset List; drafting, editing, and proofreading legal documents (Wills, Powers of Attorney, Trusts, Deeds, and other estate planning and elder law documents); attending client appointments as witness/notary; preparing client correspondence and internal communications; filing documents with counties and agencies; performing general administrative tasks; order tax assessment cards and title searches for real estate matters; support mailroom operations; prioritizing client satisfaction; and maintaining strict confidentiality. Qualities sought include detail-oriented, able to manage multiple priorities, strong client communication, and proficiency in Microsoft Office, Zoom, and legal software. Qualifications emphasize an associate degree in a related field, professional-office experience preferred, excellent written communication, multitasking, attention to detail, interpersonal skills, and familiarity with legal documentation and software.
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree in Paralegal Studies, Legal Studies, accounting, finance, business or a related field preferred
- Experience working in a professional office setting in one of the above areas preferred
- Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to draft clear and concise legal documents
- Strong ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in all work
- Strong interpersonal skills, able to effectively interact with clients, attorneys, and court personnel
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Zoom, and legal software applications
