Job Summary
Create and update 2D drawings and 3D models using CAD software, including converting legacy drawings to digital formats and generating 2D views from existing 3D models. Measure and document existing equipment to support accurate modeling while modifying designs based on engineering markups. Assist in preparing engineering drawing packages for release into document management systems, ensuring all outputs comply with established drafting standards and guidelines. This hybrid role combines office-based drafting work with plant floor interaction, requiring occasional travel between nearby facilities.
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree or certification in Drafting, CAD, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or related field preferred
- Candidates without a degree must demonstrate proficiency in 2D and 3D drafting
- Basic proficiency in CAD software (Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD, or similar tools)
- Familiarity with drafting standards (ASME/ANSI)
- Ability to use basic measurement tools (tape measure, calipers, etc.)
- Strong computer skills in a Windows-based environment
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to follow established standards and adapt to company guidelines
