Job Summary
Create detailed 2D and 3D part and assembly drawings for recreational and commercial marine product lines. Collaborate with Design Engineers to develop manufacturing-ready documentation, including exploded views and inspection-intent drawings. Apply GD&T per ASME Y14.5 to ensure components meet strict tolerances while maintaining drawing revisions, title blocks, and history. Support the creation and maintenance of accurate Bills of Material (BOMs) within an AS9100-certified engineering and quality management environment. Work closely with engineering, quality, and manufacturing teams in a hands-on production setting.
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree in Drafting, Engineering Technology, or a related technical field
- Relevant drafting or professional CAD training/experience
- 3+ years of drafting or CAD experience specifically within a manufacturing or engineering environment
- Demonstrated experience creating 2D and 3D mechanical drawings using professional-grade CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or Inventor)
- Ability to read and interpret engineering sketches, notes, and technical specifications to produce manufacturable drawings
- Proven experience maintaining drawing revisions and version control within a PDM or structured filing system
Desired Qualifications
- Working knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) per ASME Y14.5
- Previous experience in a highly regulated manufacturing environment, such as AS9100, ISO 9001, or MIL-SPEC
- Familiarity with specific processes like CNC machining, metal fabrication, or fluid-conveyance assembly
- Experience with BOM (Bill of Materials) management and ERP system entry
