Job Summary
Design and detail complex layouts for rotating equipment, producing accurate 3D CAD models and production-ready drawings. Interpret customer drawings and specifications to create components within the company’s manufacturing capabilities, develop new designs from sketches or engineering sheets, and specify tolerances, finishes, parts and calculations. Generate manufacturing and procurement bills-of-material and specifications lists via the ERP system, assist other departments with drawings interpretation, and update legacy designs to current standards. Ensure designs meet dimensional, tolerance, and joint requirements for robotic welding applications and support cross-functional teams throughout the product lifecycle.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED or Drafting Certificate with equivalent product design work experience
- Minimum 5 years Solid Modeling experience (Autodesk Inventor preferred) and related database software (Autodesk Vault Professional preferred)
- Knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing ASME Y14.5
- Knowledge of drafting standards and Global Engineering Standards
- Sheet metal design/detailing experience preferred
- Machined parts design/detailing
- Knowledge of welding process and welding symbols
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Products
- Experience in an engineered product / manufacturing environment preferred
