Job Summary
Perform drafting and engineering support tasks for the Mesa Energy Systems Engineering Group, including producing detailed HVAC schematics, developing mechanical system layouts, and converting field surveys into usable plan formats using AutoCAD. Assist engineers by participating in job site surveys to gather as-built technical information and maintain or improve the CAD Detail Library and standards. Execute assigned duties such as copying, printing, scanning, and assembling equipment submittal packages while applying autonomous decision-making to project requirements. This role supports commercial, industrial, government, healthcare, and education markets within a full-service HVAC contractor.
Required Qualifications
- Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree or a 1-year certificate program from a community college or technical school, focusing on CAD software, design fundamentals, and blueprint reading
- 2+ years of CAD Drafting experience
- formal AutoCAD/REVIT Drafting training/certification enrollment or completion
- Must make autonomous decisions based on experience and project requirements
- Develop a working knowledge of Permitting submittal requirements in the Mechanical field
- Computer-savvy, willing and able to understand and learn new software programs
- Developing proficiency of AutoCAD, MS Office Suite, and other related software applications
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Increasing awareness of HVAC Systems and Components (Hot Water, Chilled Water, Condensing Water, Chillers, Fans, Heat Pumps, etc.)
