Drafter/Engineering Designer

Job Summary
Engineering Designer responsible for bringing mechanical projects to life on screen through 3D modeling and drafting for HVAC, boilers, and process equipment. Build 3D models in AutoCAD Plant 3D from FARO laser scans; create P&IDs, general arrangements, and fabrication drawings that shop and field crews can build from; accompany project managers and sales engineers on site visits to scope work; produce proposal drawings and renderings to help customers approve projects; collaborate with welders, fitters, and field technicians to ensure drawings are practical for construction.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of drafting and 3D modeling experience with piping or mechanical systems
- Strong AutoCAD skills
- Mandatory Plant 3D experience is a big plus
- Track record of producing drawings that field crews can build from
- Strong attention to detail and good time management
- Comfortable working with engineers, project managers, field crews, and customers
- Valid driver's license; able to pass a pre-employment drug screen
- Willing to occasionally travel to customer sites for walkdowns and scanning
