Job Summary
Develops complete major layout and engineering drawings of complicated components and assemblies, including schematics and PCB layouts, from engineers' notes and sketches. Uses CAD software to create and modify detailed drawings while ensuring accuracy and conformance to standards. Collaborates with engineers on design and drafting standards, potentially providing leadership to junior drafters. Requires a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering and at least 5 years of mechanical design experience, proficiency in Solidworks and AutoCad, and familiarity with power electronics equipment.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent educational experience
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in mechanical designing
- Demonstrated experience with Solidworks 3D modeling
- Experience with AutoCad, creating 2D assembly drawings, BOMs, and component drawings
- Ability to design and configure complex systems with limited guidance
- Ability to work independently and consistently meet deadlines
Desired Qualifications
- Experience operating in an electronics manufacturing environment
- Strong technical skills related to electrical engineering and power electronics
- Excellent communication skills (oral, written, and listening)
- Good time-management skills and ability to set priorities
- Strong commitment to customer service and teamwork
