Job Summary
Prepare layout drawings and list of materials using CAD (AutoCAD); examine documents such as drawings, job files, change orders and specifications to verify completeness and accuracy of data according to architect’s drawing; collect information from contract documents, codes and reference drawings; confer with document originators to resolve discrepancies and compile required changes; maintain and update job files and release changes to records, notifying affected departments; verify dimensions and interference between elements; incorporate adjustments from revised drawings; collaborate with Project Management on scope changes due to customer requests; provide customer support throughout the erection process and ensure layout reflects customer instructions with approved drawings.
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree or equivalent, or certification from trade/technical school in a related discipline
- Drafting experience in steel construction preferred or an equivalent combination of education and work experience
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret technical procedures, specifications, governmental regulations, drawings and job specifications
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Ability to speak effectively with customers
- Constant exposure to computer display and general office equipment. Occasionally exposed to shop environment.
