Job Summary
Develop detailed design specifications for products and structures by specifying dimensions, materials, and procedures. Apply functional knowledge to assist in solving problems of moderate scope and complexity while providing guidance to less experienced team members. Support electronic and mechanical systems drafting using AutoCAD and SolidWorks within a multi-discipline team environment. Manage drawing packages through document control systems and maintain existing or create new drawing standards and operating procedures. Travel up to 25% of the time for client or facility visits.
Required Qualifications
- Experience providing drafting support for electronic and mechanical systems
- Experience with AutoCAD and SolidWorks
- Experience working within a multi-discipline team environment
- Knowledge of the Microsoft Office, OneDrive, SharePoint, and Teams tool suite
- Ability to travel up to 25% of the time
- Ability to obtain a Secret clearance
- HS diploma or GED and 9+ years of experience developing detailed design drawings and specifications
- Associate's degree and 7+ years of experience developing detailed design drawings and specifications
- Bachelor's degree and 3+ years of experience developing detailed design drawings and specifications
Desired Qualifications
- Experience leading a team of drafters to complete project objectives
- Experience with document and design file control
- Experience using a PDM system to manage drawing packages, including AutoDesk Vault or SolidWorks PDM
- Experience designing low and moderate complex components
- Experience with CAD analysis or simulation
- Experience working with existing or creating new drawing standards, templates, and operating procedures
- Experience with audio, visual, information technology, or communication systems
- AutoCAD or SolidWorks Certification such as Certified SolidWorks Professional (CSWP)
- Certification Autodesk Certified Professional for AutoCAD or Inventor
