Job Summary
Provide strategy, design, and planning services to client IT and business executives regarding cloud and hybrid environment adoption and optimization. Deliver analysis, recommendations, and designs to optimize platform or hybrid cloud infrastructure initiatives, including roadmaps for workload migration and modernization. Design, build, and manage environments while mapping application dependencies and documenting disaster recovery processes. Develop and maintain automation scripts using shell, PowerShell, Python, or Ansible to integrate with enterprise tools. Create DR exercise plans in collaboration with application and infrastructure teams, ensuring compliance with global disaster recovery and business continuity standards.
Required Qualifications
- Understanding of global disaster recovery and business continuity standards and processes
- Ability to document disaster recovery process steps at the appropriate level of detail and innovate to optimize recovery time and recovery point objectives
- Understanding of enterprise application and infrastructure (storage, server, virtualization, database, network and firewall) architecture
- Ability to map and document application to application dependencies in an enterprise environment
- Experience on KRO/KIRS/Ansible DR automation platform or similar DR automation platform
- Understanding of enterprise IT incident, problem, and change management processes
- Ability to create DR exercise plans that meet the exercise objective in collaboration with application and infrastructure teams
- Strong understanding of data protection (backup & recovery, DR, storage replication, native database replication, file replication) technologies for enterprise applications running on-premise or cloud infrastructure platforms
- Hands-on experience with standalone and clustered UNIX and Windows platforms
- Hands-on experience with virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V, Citrix Xenapp)
- Ability to develop and maintain shell / powershell / python / TCL/ Bicep/Ansible Playbooks or similar scripts
- Ability to develop scripts to integrate with external enterprise tools / systems via CLIs / APIs
- Understand storage replication technologies in various DR scenarios
- Understand native database replication technologies in various DR scenarios
- Understand virtual machine (hypervisor) level replication technologies
