Job Summary
An Optometric Technician assists in delivering the Total Patient Experience by handling a wide range of duties and using optical equipment to perform the initial testing needed to prepare a patient for an exam with an Optometrist. Responsibilities include operating manual and auto-lensometers, autorefractor/keratometer, retinal camera, visual field, GDX or OCT; following scripting for testing equipment; complying with HIPAA and company policies; assisting with general office duties and maintaining a positive, team-oriented, patient-focused environment. The role may require weekends or schedule changes; travel to other locations may be required. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is expected, and prior ophthalmic or medical-office experience is preferred for the position.
Required Qualifications
- Previous medical office experience preferred; previous ophthalmic experience strongly preferred.
- Minimum of 1 year in a position interacting with customers/patients or the equivalent combination of education and experience
- Favorable result on background check as required by state
- Must be able to provide proof of identity and right to work in the United States
- High school diploma or GED required.
