Job Summary
Control, monitor, and operate wastewater treatment plant equipment across raw pumping stations, biological basins, secondary treatment, and chemical systems. Perform advanced laboratory sampling and testing for parameters including total suspended solids, dissolved oxygen, pH, and phosphorus to adjust processes for optimal performance and Rock River permit compliance. Act as the backup lab analyst for the laboratory manager, conducting microscopic evaluations of living organisms and reporting results. This full-time hourly role includes a shared weekend rotation schedule with normal hours from 6 am to 2 pm Monday through Friday.

- understanding of return activated sludge concentrations testing
- understanding of waste activated sludge concentrations testing
- understanding of sludge volume index (SVI) testing
- understanding of biosolids cake and centrate suspended & volatile solids testing
- understanding of microscopic evaluation of the living organism concentrations and species present
- ability to make operational adjustments to the wastewater treatment plant processes
- knowledge of permit compliance requirements for effluent discharge to the Rock River
