Job Summary
Operate various sizes and models of Dozers (D10 and larger) to complete assigned earthworks, reading stakes and placing grades as needed. Ensure compliance with all company, client, and legislated safety policies while conducting equipment walk-arounds, safety checks, and field-level risk assessments. Report any necessary repairs, incidents, or near misses to maintenance teams or supervisors immediately. Prior to job commencement, review safe work plans and hazard assessments with prior authorization. This 9-month contract at the Syncrude-Aurora site involves 12-hour shifts on a 6x6 or 14x7 schedule with transportation provided from Fort McMurray. Candidates must possess oilsands-specific experience and a valid Class 5 Driver's License.
Required Qualifications
- Previous experience operating D10 sized Dozer or larger
- At least one year experience operating various sizes of Dozers
- Experience with handling material on dumps
- Experience with safely spotting haul truck operators to dump loads
- Must have oilsands specific experience
- A safety-first attitude
- Attentive and possess strong listening skills
- Must be proficient in English, both verbal and written
- Valid Class 5 Driver's License
- Valid CSO or BSO (Energy Safety Canada)
- Silica Awareness (Energy Safety Canada)
- Wood Buffalo Wildlife Awareness (Energy Safety Canada)
- OHS Alberta Legislation Awareness (Energy Safety Canada)
- H2S Awareness (Energy Safety Canada)
- Field Ergonomics (Energy Safety Canada)
- Must be able to provide a recent Driver's Abstract
- Must successfully pass a Breath Alcohol Test
- Must successfully pass a Urine Drug Test
- Must be able to work 6 x 6 or 14 x 7 schedule
- Must be able to work 12 hour shifts
- Must be able to work 3 days/3 nights/6 off or 7 days/7 nights/7 off schedule
- Must be able to work 9 months + duration
- Must be able to work in Fort McMurray area
- Must be able to work at Syncrude-Aurora site
- Must be able to work under CLAC position
- Must be able to work with PPE provided
- Must be able to work with CSA certified steel toed boots
- Must be able to work with room for growth and future advancements
- Must be able to work with local, home every night
- Must be able to work with transportation provided from Fort McMurray to site
- Must be able to work with overtime paid for hours worked over 12 hours per shift
- Must be able to work with overtime paid for statutory holidays
- Must be able to work with overtime paid for work on a day off
- Must be able to work with guaranteed scheduled hours paid when you report to work
- Must be able to work with additional pay for expanded responsibilities like mentoring
- Must be able to work with additional pay for site logistics support

Desired Qualifications
- High school diploma, GED, and/or post-secondary education is considered an asset
Additional Requirements
- Subject to Random Testing at Suncor, Suncor Fort Hills and Kearl sites
- Provide a valid Class 5 Driver’s License and ability to provide a recent Driver’s Abstract
