Job Summary
Operate a heavy-duty truck on swing routes in residential, commercial, and construction environments, performing pre- and post-trip inspections and maintaining a clean, safe vehicle. Immediately report unsafe situations or service calls to Route Manager or Dispatch, and cooperate in scheduled training and briefings. Work closely with managers to improve route efficiencies, complete customer tickets for excess yardage, and position containers properly to ensure lids are replaced and driveways remain unblocked. Dump all containers leaving customer locations clean, follow route assignments, and submit documentation at the end of the shift. This union position starts at 3AM Monday through Friday with overtime on Saturdays, offering a base wage of $33.97.
Required Qualifications
- 2 years operating a vehicle requiring a CDL
- equivalent military driving experience within the last 7 years
- Able to read, write, and speak English well enough to interact with the public, understand traffic signs, respond to official questions, and complete records or reports
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Legally eligible to work in the country where the position is located
- (CDL)-Class B Commercial Drivers License B (CDL) Upon Hire
- Previous waste experience
Desired Qualifications
- Preferred: 2 years operating a vehicle requiring an AZ or DZ
- High School or GED (accredited)
