Job Summary
Doula position providing in-home visits and group-based support to young mothers and fathers. Responsibilities include outreach, prenatal education, assisting with childbirth through home visiting and labor support, postpartum care, facilitating birth planning, and developing family goals with community resources. Requires building trusting relationships, advocating for families, and leading pre/postnatal education groups. On-call duties with after-hours births. English and Spanish preferred; must have a valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle. Hybrid work arrangement in Bloomington, IL area with community-based and home-based services.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in social work or human service, OR Associate's Degree plus completion of Doula certification training, OR Associate's Degree plus two years' relevant social service experience
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Must become SIU Doula Medicaid Certified within 18 months of hire
- Able to attend in-person family visits and meetings required
- Proficient in speaking, reading and writing in English and Spanish preferred
- Valid driver's license, insurance, and a reliable vehicle required
