DOT Safety Manager

Lead efforts to ensure excellent driver safety performance using onboard monitoring systems and address issues through the corrective action process. Identify, establish, and maintain safety training requirements for the DOT classified workforce while performing data analysis on accident, violation, and HOS information to drive remediation and risk management. Ensure full compliance with FMCSR, CTPAT, and other regulatory agencies, maintaining accurate CSA scores and managing the random drug and alcohol program. Serve as a subject matter expert on accident investigations, guiding supervisory staff and reviewing driver applicant records relative to past employment and driving history. Complete required reporting and record keeping, including Smart Way files, and establish education programs to develop safety personnel. Requires a BS/BA degree, five to seven years of DOT safety experience, and supervisory responsibilities for safety and regulatory policies.
