Job Summary
Inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain trucks, trailers, and heavy equipment in a scrap-yard environment in compliance with DOT regulations and company safety standards. Perform preventive maintenance and repairs, conduct DOT inspections, diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues, repair/replace defective parts, maintain service records, inspect brake systems and other critical components, ensure safe and efficient repairs, maintain a clean work area, respond to breakdowns, and adhere to OSHA and company safety procedures. Requires on-site work in a maintenance shop and outdoor area; valid driver’s license with CDL preferred; ability to work independently and as part of a team; strong attention to safety.”,
Required Qualifications
- Experience as a diesel mechanic, heavy equipment mechanic, or DOT mechanic preferred.
- Knowledge of DOT regulations and inspection requirements.
- Ability to diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical problems.
- Ability to operate diagnostic tools and equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and safety awareness.
- Valid driver’s license required; CDL preferred.
