Job Summary
Assist crews in constructing, maintaining, and repairing overhead and underground traffic signal and roadway lighting systems by preparing job sites, handling tools, and ensuring safety. Set up safe work zones, load and unload equipment, pull electrical cables, and operate basic hand and power tools under supervision. Dig trenches, frame poles, install hardware, and manage debris disposal while following all safety procedures and company regulations. Report equipment issues or hazards immediately to supervisors and demonstrate knowledge of electrical systems and utility operations. Carry up to 50 pounds and properly use personal protective equipment. This entry-level role supports crew members in a stable, employee-owned environment with apprenticeship opportunities.
Required Qualifications
- Must pass criminal background check and pre-employment drug screening
- Must have a positive and cooperative attitude and excellent attendance
- Must be able to get along with fellow workers, other tradesmen on the jobsite, inspectors, customers, and the public
- Must be able to carry up to 50 pounds
- Must properly use safety equipment and personal protective equipment
- Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of all types of hand tools
- Learn and apply basic knowledge of electrical systems and utility operations
