Job Summary
Perform dose calculations and computerized isodose planning for brachytherapy and photon beam/electron beam teletherapy treatments. Solve clinical or machine-related issues, execute mathematical calculations, and read diagnostic images for radiation dosimetry. Maintain knowledge of radiation safety and brachytherapy source inventory while collaborating with physicians, technical staff, and ancillary personnel. Requires a bachelor or associate degree in radiation therapy, Certified Medical Dosimetrist certification, and two years of experience. Full-time day shift (7:00 AM - 3:30 PM) at CVPH – FitzPatrick Cancer Center in Plattsburgh, New York.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor or associate degree in radiation therapy or related sciences
- Certification as Certified Medical Dosimetrist or eligible to sit for examination within 1 year of hire
- Two years of experience as a Dosimetrist
- The ability to problem solve and resolve clinical or machine related issues
- Perform mathematical calculations
- Strong understanding of the principles of physics
- Proficiency in the use of computers
- The ability to read diagnostic images for radiation dosimetry
- Knowledge of radiation safety and brachytherapy source inventory
- Strong interpersonal skills necessary to work with physicians, technical staff and ancillary department personnel
Desired Qualifications
- Registration by AART as a Radiotherapy Therapist
