Job Summary
Dosimetrist - Proton: Generate radiation dose distributions and calculations to provide radiation treatment plans per the radiation oncologists' prescription. Assist in simulation, brachytherapy and specialty procedures; participate in clinical and didactic instruction of students. Opportunity to receive training in proton therapy and contribute to developing a new proton therapy program. Initially fully onsite for the first two years to establish workflows, with potential transition to a hybrid model thereafter. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to design and implement clinical workflows, and support the MevionFit Proton Therapy program’s operations. Proton planning experience and related software (RayStation, ARIA, VMAT) are preferred. Requirements include a Bachelor's degree and CMD or registry eligibility. Salary and benefits include tuition assistance and educational supports. Location options include remote/hybrid or on-site at the Fred & Pamela Buffett Cancer Center – Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, NE.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required
- Graduate of an approved AMA program in medical dosimetry or radiation therapy technology program required
- Certified Medical Dosimetrist (CMD) or registry eligible required
- Preferred Qualifications: Clinical experience as a dosimetrist or radiation therapist preferred
- Bachelor's degree in radiation therapy technology, or health related field, preferred
- Experience with Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint preferred
- Medical dosimetry computer applications preferred
- ARRT Registered Radiation Therapist preferred
