Job Summary
Manage treatment planning processes to ensure high-quality outcomes and rapid access to radiation therapy by implementing approved plans in accordance with protocols. Complete specified quality assurance treatment planning processes and recording requirements weekly and at the end of treatment to minimize risk. Supervise, perform, or assist in the production of associated devices and the application of specific dosimetry methods including ion chamber, TLD, or film measurements. Document prescriptions in patient records and communicate plan aspects to physicians and radiation therapists for approval and implementation. Assist therapy staff in problem-solving regarding immobilization devices, compensators, and image-guided radiotherapy variables. Teach applied aspects of medical dosimetry to students and residents as assigned. Maintain licensure and participate in mandatory professional development while adhering to privacy guidelines.
Required Qualifications
- Associate of Science or bachelor's degree in the physical or biological sciences
- ARRT/RT(T) certification
- 1 to >5 years of experience in medical dosimetry under the supervision of a Certified Medical Dosimetrist or Medical Physicist
- Must have basic computer and typing skills
- Must have experience with Monaco
- Must have experience with Mosaiq
- Must have experience with Eclipse
- Must have experience with ARIA
- Must have experience with Elekta
- Must have experience with Varian linacs
- Must have experience with IMRT
- Must have experience with VMAT
- Must have experience with SRS
- Must have experience with SBRT
- Must have experience with IGRT
- Must have experience with CT/MR based HDR
- Must have Graduate level qualifications in a relevant area – a either Health care or business related
- Must be able to Travel when required to other sites and/or leadership meetings
Desired Qualifications
- Professional Certification (or requirements for certification)
- Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
- Completion/Participation in SunState Medical Specialists Credentialing and Scope of Practice Programs
- Basic understanding of the technical aspects of radiation oncology, medical physics, and tolerance doses to derive computerized treatment plans
- Working knowledge of radiation safety and correct use of immobilization devices and other treatment variables
- Proven ability to work within cross functional multi-disciplinary teams
- Proven ability to manage internal and external stakeholder relationships
