Job Summary
Translates prescribed radiation doses into precise treatment plans and collaborates with medical physicists and radiation oncologists. Designs treatment plans using imaging data (CT, MRI, PET) and optimal beam geometry to deliver prescribed doses while sparing normal structures; identifies and contours structures, performs dosimetric calculations, and verifies calculations. Participates in simulations and localization, assists in fabricating beam-modifying devices, and transfers reference images for treatment delivery. Leads in teaching applied dosimetry to students and residents, participates in clinical research and quality-improvement processes, and provides advisory input on treatment plan implementation. Requires a Bachelor's degree in medical dosimetry or equivalent and CMD eligibility or certification.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in medical Dosimetry or equivalent
- CMD - Certified Medical Dosimetrist or eligible to sit for the MDCB Examination and pass exam upon hire
