Job Summary
Manage overall dormitory operations across all assigned buildings, ensuring delivery of high-quality housing services that support student comfort, safety, and training readiness for up to 750 resident students. Plan, schedule, and oversee all dormitory functions, including housekeeping, laundry, janitorial services, desk operations, and student registration activities. Supervise dormitory staff, including dorm clerks, registration personnel, housekeepers, janitorial staff, and laundry personnel, ensuring adequate staffing levels and proper coverage (24/7 where required). Establish work schedules, assign daily and weekly tasks, and adjust staffing based on dormitory forecast, student population, and operational requirements. Oversee student registration and housing operations, including room assignments, roster management, pre-registration processing, and coordination with the Visitor Control Center (VCC). Ensure accurate maintenance of dormitory records, logs, inventory tracking (keys, linens, equipment), and reporting requirements. Ensure all dormitory services are performed in accordance with FLETC policies, privacy requirements, and conduct standards, including professional interaction with students and prohibition of unauthorized activities. Oversee housekeeping and janitorial operations to ensure rooms, common areas, and facilities meet required cleanliness and sanitation standards, including room turnover and daily service requirements. Oversee laundry operations, including collection, cleaning, inspection, distribution, and inventory management of linens and supplies. Ensure timely room readiness for incoming students, including coordination of cleaning, linen replacement, inspections, and supply replenishment. Monitor dormitory conditions and ensure all maintenance, custodial, and facility issues are promptly identified, reported, and resolved through appropriate channels. Ensure compliance with safety, sanitation, PPE, and chemical handling requirements across all dormitory operations. Develop, implement, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), including specialized procedures such as bed bug identification, prevention, and response. Provide training and ongoing oversight to staff to ensure adherence to SOPs, safety standards, and performance expectations; maintain required training records and documentation.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of recent experience managing commercial or institutional housekeeping operations at a facility of similar size and complexity
- Proven ability to manage staffing, inventory, and daily operations in a multi-building dormitory or lodging setting
- Working knowledge of cleaning chemicals, housekeeping procedures, and safety regulations
- Ability to lead and motivate large teams across shifts, including weekends and holidays
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in English and basic computer operations (email, scheduling, spreadsheets)
- Must be eligible for DHS background investigation and suitability clearance
- Must be a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident with work authorization
- Maintaining a valid driver's license in good standing
- Comply with all Company vehicle use and safety policies, as well as all applicable traffic laws
- Immediately notify the Company if your driver's license is suspended, revoked, restricted, expires, or if your driving privileges otherwise change
