Job Summary
Conduct academic assistance by delivering group and individualized instruction, correcting student work, and reporting progress to teachers. Prepare classroom materials, serve as a proctor during testing, and maintain accurate attendance and behavior records. Supervise students in classrooms and school locations, resolve minor conflicts, and enforce approved discipline methods. Drive or monitor school buses as required, maintaining all state-mandated certifications and operating logs. Perform physical tasks including lifting and navigating school grounds while adhering to safety protocols.
Required Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Hold a 2 or 4 year degree
- Have completed 48 Semester Hours
- Have completed the Pathways to TA Class and completed the accompanying WorkKeys Test
- Working knowledge of effective methods of dealing with children
- Ability to solve minor problems
- Ability to follow detailed written and oral instructions
- Must be able to communicate orally and in writing with parents, staff, and community leaders
- Must be able to physically perform the basic life operational functions of fingering, grasping, kneeling, sitting, walking, stooping, reaching, lifting, pushing, pulling, talking, seeing, hearing, and repetitive motion
- Must maintain appropriate bus driver certification at all times
