Job Summary
Greet all guests upon arrival and assist with luggage to rooms during check-in and checkout. Hail taxicabs, answer inquiries, and direct guests to meeting rooms while ensuring the white zone remains clear. Sign for lost luggage from airlines, deliver items to guests, and submit all found articles with reports. Assist valet when busy, cover lunch breaks, and maintain a clean, polished bell closet and carts daily. Provide general information on local events, dining, and emergency procedures when concierge is unavailable. Secure guest luggage until departure and notify guests of deliveries or visitor arrivals.
Required Qualifications
- Knowledge of the community and area in which the hotel is located
- Ability to greet guests upon arrival
- Ability to assist guests with luggage to their rooms promptly when checking in and upon checking out
- Ability to hail taxicabs
- Ability to answer inquiries
- Ability to take luggage to the curb to meet transportation
- Ability to sign for lost luggage from airlines
- Ability to deliver lost luggage to the guest's room
- Ability to provide general information when Concierge is not available
- Ability to assist as a valet when busy
- Ability to cover for lunch breaks
- Ability to cover in absence
- Ability to keep bell closet clean and neat
- Ability to polish and clean bell carts daily
- Ability to submit lost and found articles accompanied by a Lost and Found report
- Ability to assist guests into automobiles or taxicab
- Ability to keep white zone clear
- Ability to function as a valet parking attendant
- Ability to function as a doorperson
- Ability to check and secure guests' luggage until departure
- Ability to direct guests to various meeting rooms
- Ability to prevent entrance of unauthorized or undesirable persons
- Ability to notify guests by telephone of delivery of automobiles, packages, or arrival of visitors
- Ability to provide other assistance to guests as necessary to ensure the highest quality of service
- Ability to promote all hotel functions and facilities
- Ability to inform incoming guests on storage area
- Ability to inform incoming guests on restaurant hours of operation
- Ability to inform incoming guests on location of vending/ice machines
- Ability to inform incoming guests on the concierge event of the evening
- Ability to inform incoming guests on health club information
