Job Summary
Provide donor registration, conduct donor interviews, and perform phlebotomy for Allogeneic Whole Blood and Directed Whole Blood Collection, including pre-donation testing and vital signs. Monitor donor recovery and manage adverse donor reactions; assist with routine equipment and supply QC, and maintain thorough documentation of donor procedures. Actively recruit donors to Blood Bank Programs and promotions, and work at multiple draw locations. Requires strong customer service, ability to work with blood, teamwork, accurate documentation, venipuncture skills, basic math, and CPR/medical certifications. Education must include High School Diploma or GED; relevant certifications such as Phlebotomy, Medical Assistant, or CNA are preferred. Must hold a current California driver’s license and CPR certification; lifting up to 30 pounds and basic computer skills are also required.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Current CPR Certification
- California Driver's license
- Phlebotomy Certificate or Medical Assistant/Certified Nursing Assistant Diploma if applicable
- EMT Certificate or similar military experience/certification if applicable
- 1-2 years customer service experience preferred
