Job Summary
Donor Specialist responsible for excellent customer service while performing donor registration, donor interviews, phlebotomy for Allogeneic and Directed Whole Blood, and monitoring donor recovery. Performs vital sign checks and tests (blood pressure, temperature, pulse, hematocrit/hemoglobin), prepares pre-donation samples, ensures proper documentation and quality control, and actively recruits donors for Blood Bank Programs. Works at multiple donor draw locations and handles equipment setup, QC tasks, and donor safety with attention to confidentiality and compliance in a laboratory/clinical setting.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Current CPR Certification
- Phlebotomy Certificate (or applicable)
- Medical Assistant Diploma or Certified Nursing Assistant Diploma (or applicable)
- EMT Certificate (if applicable)
- California Driver’s license
- Ability to lift 30 pounds
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Ability to drive a standard passenger vehicle
- Basic math skills
- Knowledge of basic computer operation
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Experience in customer service (1-2 years preferred)
