Job Summary
Donor Specialist responsible for donor registration, interviews, phlebotomy for Whole Blood collections, donor monitoring and adverse reaction care, and quality control of equipment and processes. Role includes performance of pre-donation tests (BP, temperature, pulse, hematocrit/hemoglobin), preparation of samples, confidential donor health interviews, communication with internal/external customers, and active recruitment to Blood Bank Programs. Requires ability to work at multiple draw locations, maintain accurate documentation, operate basic computer systems, and adhere to safety and confidentiality standards. Education includes high school diploma/GED with additional certifications (EMT/MA/CNA/phlebotomy) recommended; 1–2 years of customer service experience preferred; willing to work in clinical laboratory environments with physical demands and driving responsibilities.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Emergency Medical Technician Certificate (if applicable)
- Medical Assistant Diploma or Nursing Assistant Diploma (if applicable)
- Phlebotomy Certificate (if applicable)
- Current CPR Certification
- Current California Driver’s license
- One to two years’ customer service experience preferred
