Donor Services Technician (Decatur)

Job Summary
Greet donors and guests by opening doors, smiling, and identifying individuals by name to foster rapport. Assess donor eligibility through computer verification, medical history screening, and mini-physicals while providing educational materials. Perform donor health history and physical assessments according to standard operating procedures, select proper collection materials, and escort donors through the next phase. Maintain store front cleanliness and organization during operational hours, ensuring night staff duties are completed. Communicate organizational values, engage donors in conversation, and report observations that may impact the donor experience. Perform reception duties, stock screening rooms, and support blood drives as assigned. Adapt to varied hours including weekends with less than 24 hours' notice.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Valid Driver's License with no major infractions and dependable transportation
- Ability to communicate effectively, tactfully, and courteously to patrons, donors, sponsors, and co-workers
- Ability to work with all levels and in a diverse work environment
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, management, and peers
- Lifting and/or pulling/pushing up to 50 pounds
- Sitting, standing, or walking for an extended period
- Bending and twisting
- Must be able to work varied hours including working some weekends
- Must be able to adapt to a work schedule that may change with less than 24 hours' notice
Desired Qualifications
