Job Summary
Greets and assists donors to safely unload vehicles, maintaining accurate daily counts and sorting items into correct categories. Operates power equipment including stackers, pallet jacks, and compactors while loading and unloading trailers. Keeps the backroom clean and organized by completing checklists, replacing labeled gaylords, and performing general cleaning tasks in the donation drop-off lane. Requires 18 years of age for certain equipment operation, basic math skills, and fluent English. Must be able to stand for up to eight hours, lift up to 25 pounds, and work a flexible schedule including holidays, evenings, and weekends. Goodwill NCW is a nonprofit with 28 retail stores across north-central Wisconsin dedicated to elevating people by eliminating barriers to employment.
Required Qualifications
- Excellent time management and prioritization skills and the ability to work through multiple tasks simultaneously under time constraints
- Excellent communication, customer service and attention to detail
- Basic math skills
- Fluent in English
- Experience with computers or a willingness and ability to learn
- Reliable transportation
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including holidays, evenings, and weekends
- Regular and timely attendance in accordance with the assigned work schedule
- Sufficient physical ability to repetitively stand for prolonged periods of time (up to 8 hours)
- Ability to independently twist, lift, carry, push or pull moderate (10 pounds) to heavy (25 pounds) of weight; using a team lift for objects weighing over 25 pounds
- Ability to reach approximately 54 inches
- Ability to frequently stoop, bend, kneel, crouch
- Sufficient hand and finger dexterity to perform detailed tasks
- Ability to verbally communicate to exchange information
- 18 years or older
