Job Summary
Conduct blood collection at fixed site locations by personally connecting with volunteer donors, listening to their stories, and ensuring they feel comfortable to encourage repeat visits. Collaborate with teammates to maintain a welcoming environment while strictly adhering to safety procedures and regulatory requirements during every donation. Balance production, customer service, and compliance to ensure collected blood meets goals for safe transfusion. Work variable 4 x 10 hour shifts including early mornings, late nights, weekends, and holidays, with schedules provided two to three weeks in advance. This role offers paid phlebotomy training for those without prior medical experience, allowing growth within the nation's top humanitarian network.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's degree
- Minimum of one year customer service experience in public setting
- Ability to lift, push or pull heavy weights up and down ramps and stairs
- Good manual dexterity
- Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time
- Adapt to long, irregular hours and frequent schedule changes
- Basic computer skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft office applications
- Variable hours 4 x 10 hour shifts
- Early mornings, late nights, weekends, and holidays
Desired Qualifications
- Phlebotomy experience
- Prior healthcare or phlebotomy experience (CNA, MA, EMT, etc.)
- Prior leadership experience
