Job Summary
Collect lifesaving blood donations at fixed site locations by personally connecting with volunteer donors, listening to their stories, and explaining the impact of their contribution. Collaborate with teammates to create a welcoming environment while following all safety procedures to ensure collected blood meets regulatory requirements for safe transfusion. Maintain a detailed-oriented approach throughout the day to support community goals. Requires variable 4x10-hour shifts including weekends, holidays, and early/late mornings. Starting pay is $20.81/hour under a union contract. Paid phlebotomy training provided; no prior medical experience required, though healthcare experience is preferred. Associates degree or equivalent education and one year of customer service experience in a public setting needed. Valid driver's license with good driving record required.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's degree OR a combination of education and work experience
- Minimum of one year customer service experience in public setting
- Current, valid driver's license with a good driving record
- Ability to lift, push or pull heavy weights up and down ramps and stairs
- Good manual dexterity
- Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time
- Adaptability to long, irregular hours and frequent schedule changes
- Basic computer skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft office applications
- Availability for weekends
- Availability for early mornings
- Availability for late nights
- Availability for holidays
- Ability to work a variable schedule
Desired Qualifications
- Prior healthcare or phlebotomy experience (CNA, MA, EMT, etc.)
