Job Summary
Greet donors and guests by opening doors, welcoming visitors, and identifying patrons by name to foster rapport. Assess donor eligibility through computer verification, medical history screening, and physical assessments while providing educational materials. Perform donor health history and physical assessments, select proper collection materials, and escort donors through the collection process for handoff to the collections team. Maintain storefront cleanliness and inspect night cleaning duties, ensuring areas remain inviting and debris-free during operational hours. Communicate organizational values, engage donors in conversation, and report observations or donor dissatisfaction to management immediately. Perform reception and telephone duties, stock the donor screening room, and support blood drives and special events as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Valid Driver's License with no major infractions and dependable transportation
- Ability to communicate effectively, tactfully, and courteously to patrons, donors, sponsors, and co-workers
- Ability to work with all levels and in a diverse work environment
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, management, and peers
- Must be able to work varied hours including working weekends
- Must be able to adapt to a work schedule that may change with less than 24 hours' notice
- Lifting and/or pulling/pushing up to 50 pounds
- Sitting, standing, or walking for an extended period
- Bending and twisting
