Job Summary
Donor Care Specialist provides care for donors during the donation process, answering donor questions, and managing donor records and case resolution. Responsibilities include handling donor complication cases, conducting medical director/designee reviews for quality and regulatory standards, investigating discrepancies in donor records, ensuring confidentiality of donor data, and preparing reports on donor complications. The role requires probing for complete health histories, ensuring accurate eligibility determinations, and maintaining security of confidential information; collaboration with physicians, field staff, and internal/external customers is expected; strong written/verbal communication and computer skills are essential, with the role operating in a hybrid in-office setting in Charlotte, NC.
Required Qualifications
- High School or equivalent with medical certification such as RN, LPN or MT/MLT; Associate’s degree preferred
- Minimum 1 year of experience in patient care, blood collections or patient testing or equivalent combination of education and related experience
- Excellent written and verbal skills; ability to probe donors to elicit complete and accurate health history; intermediate to advanced computer skills with Microsoft Office
- Ability to work on a team
- Travel: Some travel may be required
- Bilingual is helpful
