Job Summary
Donation Utility Associate Trainee assists donors by providing a positive customer experience, accepts donations, and supports cross-training as Barcoder and Processor Trainee to promote growth. Responsibilities include greeting donors, labeling outgoing gaylords, maintaining donation areas, assisting with loading/unloading merchandise, and handling sale tickets for furniture and other large items. Must operate pallet jack/forklift safely, conduct daily safety inspections, follow safety rules, and maintain a clean work environment. Training aims to develop skills across donation processing, barcoding, and merchandise handling, contributing to the organization’s job training and education initiatives. The role requires flexibility to work with customers and donors, maintain safety, and support store operations. Benefits vary by full-time/part-time status.
Required Qualifications
- Must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily
- Ability to pass training certification (if needed for double stacker)
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including night, weekends, and occasionally long hours
- English language communication skills
- Ability to operate forklift and pallet jack safely
- Ability to load/unload merchandise and assist customers as needed
- Must maintain a clean, neat personal appearance and wear company-issued uniform
- Ability to function in a hectic work environment with occasional high stress
