Job Summary
Receive donations, sort textiles and hard goods, and process items for transit while providing responsive customer service to donors. Greet visitors promptly, answer questions about the "Can't Use" list, complete donor receipts, and track donation data on a laptop. Assist with truck loading, unload vehicles, and price merchandise using a pricing gun. Maintain a safe, clean workspace by following safety protocols, using equipment like pallet jacks, and performing daily station cleanups. Stand, walk, and lift up to 40 pounds frequently in a retail and warehouse environment. Weekend and evening shifts required.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to effectively and respectfully communicate with the public and customers (internal and external).
- Ability to count, add, and subtract.
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently.
- Ability to follow all safety rules.
- Must be able to operate a pricing gun and price merchandise appropriately.
- Ability to stand, bend, lift, and reach for long periods of time.
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and occasionally lift up to 80 pounds.
- Use of both hands.
- Good manual and finger dexterity.
- Ability to inspect and eliminate non-saleable donations.
- Ability to safely move merchandise and materials.
- Flexibility to shift between customer-facing and warehouse responsibilities.
- Weekend and evening work required.
