Job Summary
Receiving donations, sorting textiles and hard goods, and processing commercial items for transit while providing exceptional customer service to donors. Greet visitors promptly, assist with unloading vehicles, answer questions, and complete donor receipts and tax forms accurately. Sort items by store criteria, salvage usable goods, and discard approved trash. Track donation counts and zip codes on a laptop, maintain workstation supplies, and perform daily cleanups. Operate pallet jacks and other equipment safely while following all safety rules. Work in a retail and warehouse environment involving extended standing, lifting up to 80 pounds, and weekend or evening shifts.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to effectively and respectfully communicate with the public and customers (internal and external)
- Ability to count, add, and subtract
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently
- Ability to follow all safety rules
- Must be able to operate a pricing gun and price merchandise appropriately
- Ability to stand, bend, lift, and reach for long periods of time
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and occasionally lift up to 80 pounds
- Use of both hands
- Good manual and finger dexterity
- Ability to inspect and eliminate non-saleable donations
- Flexibility to shift between customer-facing and warehouse responsibilities
- Weekend and evening work required
