Job Summary
Provide compassionate support to families navigating organ, tissue, and eye donation decisions through grief counseling and crisis intervention. Conduct donor risk assessments and interviews while maintaining open communication with hospital staff and internal teams. Collaborate with dedicated staff to create educational programs and participate in case reviews to ensure exceptional donor family experiences. Work 12-hour night shifts (8 PM – 8 AM) including rotating weekends and holidays as part of an on-call rotation.
Required Qualifications
- Experience in Grief Support or Hospice Care: A minimum of 2 years in grief counseling, hospice care, or a related field, such as social work or nursing, where providing family support is central.
- Compassionate Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication abilities, with the empathy and resilience needed to connect meaningfully with families facing loss.
- Crisis Intervention Skills: Demonstrated crisis management and emotional support skills, with the ability to differentiate grief from other life challenges, particularly in high-stress situations.
- Dedication and Flexibility: Willingness to work nights, weekends, and holidays as part of an on-call rotation, ensuring that families have support whenever they need it.
- Statewide travel across Oklahoma
