Job Summary
The Donated Goods Associate supports store operations by assisting with the intake, processing, stocking, and sale of donated goods. This position ensures an Amazing Customer Experience (ACE) by providing friendly, efficient service at the register, in the donation area, and on the sales floor. This role rotates across the donor door, processing, pricing, merchandising, and cashiering based on the day’s demand, and may participate in new store building and renovations. Responsibilities include greeting donors and customers, handling cash transactions, receiving and sorting donated items, tagging and stocking merchandise, maintaining cleanliness, adhering to safety and loss prevention procedures, assisting customers, and flexing between cashier, production, and sales floor duties. Training and development to align with Goodwill’s mission and policies are required, with HazMat awareness and equipment certifications to be completed within 30 days of hire. Basic math and reading skills, dependable attendance, ability to stand and lift up to 50 lbs, and proficiency with POS systems and barcode scanners are part of the role.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Previous retail, cashier, or warehouse experience helpful but not required.
