Job Summary
Operate cash registers, bag merchandise, and collect payments while maintaining strict cash accountability and security protocols. Unload trucks, unpack cartons, and stock shelves by rotating and facing merchandise to build displays. Assist customers in locating items, greet shoppers, and provide superior service leadership in the absence of the Store Manager. Authorize refunds, count registers, and make bank deposits as needed. Clean store floors, restrooms, and stockrooms; manage trash and cardboard. Open and close the store under Area Manager direction. Complete all required paperwork and documentation according to guidelines.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to perform mathematical calculations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and percentages.
- Knowledge of cash handling procedures including cashier accountability and deposit control.
- Ability to perform IBM cash register functions.
- Knowledge of cash, facility and safety control policies and practices.
- Effective interpersonal and oral & written communication skills.
- Understanding of safety policies and practices.
- Ability to read and follow plan-o-gram and merchandise presentation guidance.
Desired Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent and six months of supervisory experience (or related experience/training) preferred.
