Job Summary
As a Petco Certified Dog Trainer, provide world-class dog training services through one-on-one sessions and group classes, develop customized training plans, and engage guests with tailored recommendations for merchandise and services. Collaborate with grooming and veterinary teams to deliver holistic wellness solutions, maintain training records, and support store performance goals. Demonstrate passion for animal care, effective communication, and the ability to work with dogs of all sizes while adhering to safety protocols and participating in the DTIP certification program.
Required Qualifications
- Passion for animal care and welfare
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated ability to handle dogs of all sizes, ages, and breeds in a safe and humane manner
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks
- Flexibility to work weekends, evenings, and holidays as needed
- Physical stamina to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 pounds
- Familiarity with computer systems to manage training records, schedules, and communication with pet parents
- Completion of Dog Training Instructor Program (DTIP) stages and advancement to stage 2 and 3
